Information on the procedure by which persons with functional impairments are ensured access to healthcare services provided by the medical institution.
In accordance with Cabinet of Ministers Regulation No. 60 of 20 January 2009 “Regulations on mandatory requirements for medical institutions and their structural units”, the following procedure is established to ensure access to healthcare services at SIA “VASU” (hereinafter – Northway Clinic) for persons with functional impairments:
- Northway Clinic, located at 14 Apuzes Street, Riga, ensures that persons with functional impairments have access to all healthcare services provided, in accordance with approved medical technologies.
- Additional information can be obtained by calling 28664723 or 26407723.
- If a patient or visitor requires additional assistance to enter the medical institution and/or to reach a specific healthcare service location or office, support can be provided:
– by calling the Northway Clinic administrator in advance at 28664723 or 26407723 (on working days from 09:00 to 19:00);
– by contacting any employee of Northway Clinic. - When providing services to patients or visitors with functional impairments, Northway Clinic staff observe the following additional conditions:
- Each employee provides assistance within the limits of their ability, involving other staff members if necessary.
- Persons with functional impairments receiving inpatient healthcare services are accommodated in patient rooms equipped with adapted sanitary facilities. In such cases, no additional charge for enhanced comfort services is applied.
- Communication with persons with hearing impairments is ensured through visual information, written communication, or by involving specially trained support persons from the Latvian Association of the Deaf.
- Persons with visual impairments are allowed to be accompanied by a specially trained guide dog within Northway Clinic premises, except in areas where entry is permitted only with special protective clothing/equipment. If necessary, staff of the relevant unit will provide additional assistance in escorting the person.
- Toilet facilities adapted for persons with functional impairments are available on the first and second floors of the building.
- Information on the procedure by which Northway Clinic ensures access to healthcare services for persons with functional impairments is displayed on the information board at the clinic and is also available on the website www.northwayklinika.lv.
