Breastfeeding is a natural process that should be easy and painless. But sometimes it can be difficult both emotionally and physically. Most often, mothers face breastfeeding problems on the 3rd or 4th day after giving birth, when both the mother and the baby have arrived home and they have to start doing their daily routines constantly, without the help of medical personnel. Milk congestion tends to form, the nipple becomes hard, which makes it difficult for the baby to grasp it, etc. complications.
A lactation consultant will provide emotional and safe support to solve the problems that have arisen and find the most suitable solution for the mother and the baby. Therefore, taking care of the future and new mother and her baby’s well-being, we offer breastfeeding consultations at Northway Klīnika.
Breastfeeding consultations at the clinic are provided by a certified midwife, lactation consultant Anete Polanska.
We recommend planning the consultation when the baby develops an appetite, in order to have the opportunity to observe breastfeeding.
We also offer on-site consultations at home, assessing the mother and the baby in their natural conditions, understanding the involvement of family members in breastfeeding, evaluating the baby’s care/sleeping safety, etc.
